The Countries of World War Two Game

Description

This game is designed to help the students learn which countries participated in World War 2 and which side they fought for.

The goal of the game is to be the first one to cover your game board by matching the countries up. There are four different game boards: One Axis Powers and Three Allied Powers. There were a lot more countries who fought on the Allied Powers side than on the Axis Powers.

Directions:

1. Print out the game on cardstock.
2. Place the game boards in a sheet protector so the game can last longer.
3. Cut apart the flag cards.
4. Pass out a game board to every player.
5. Shuffle the deck of flag cards and deal 7 cards to every player.
6. The players can look at their initial set of cards and place any matching cards on their gameboards.
7. Note: They can only match one flag card per game board. They cannot play the same flag card twice.
8. When it is the player’s turn, they can draw one card from the pile. The cards will be one of these.
1. A flag card.
2. An “Any Country” card which can be used in place of any country the player
wants it to be.
3. A “Reverse” card will cause the turns to rotate the opposite direction.
4. A “Skip a Turn” card which will cause the player who draws it to lose their
current turn. They will discard the card on the bottom of the deck.
5. A “Trade a Card” allows the person to trade another person for the flag card
they need. When they draw the card, they will ask for the card they want and trade
one of their cards for it.
9. After the person has drawn a card, they will play any cards they can on their game board and discard one card face up in a pile.
10. The next person can take the card that is facing up or pick one from the deck of cards.
11. The first person to fill their game board wins.
12.Repeat until everyone has matched their cards on their game boards.
