Each lesson begins with a short reading assignment telling the story of Benjamin Franklin. It will prepare the student for the activities they will be participating in.

I love taking the topic and creating hands-on activities that demonstrate the concept of what we are learning. This study is brimming with some amazing activities like creating a business plan and executing it. The students compare the cost of eating meat versus eliminating it from your diet. I created a game where they can experience first-hand what the cost of living means as they try to build a “house” in different parts of the nation.

Several of the lessons include writing prompts that encourage them to explore what they are learning and how they can apply it to their own life today. In some of these prompts, I focus on character traits like how you influence others or how do you work to make things easier for others.

The vocabulary assignments require the student to look up the word and write it down. The majority of the lessons include an activity that demonstrates the meaning of the word.

This resource is designed to teach a variety of ages at the same time if needed.
