Part Four
Finally, it was time for the finale of our unit study! An airplane ride! It was the moment we had all been waiting for. We were very excited and a little anxious, but ready to try something new.

CrewTip: The Concept Behind My Crazy
If your family is attending an event or is a part of a special occasion, it’s the perfect time to do unit study about it because it offeres an automatic finale. I find that my children are much more attentive when they have something to look forward to.

One of our friends is a pilot and offered to take the kiddos up for a ride. I got to tag along too which was grand! He took us up and we were able to estimate how high we were. They got to feel the effects of flying on the human body.
We followed the major roads and landmarks and were able to find our house. It’s interesting to see your neighborhood from a different perspective.
The kiddos were shocked at how much quicker it is to fly versus driving a car. This was a lesson we learned because we did it and wasn’t something I thought to talk about.
Every single one of us loved this experience! It was so much fun to see our world from a different perspective. It was kind of a life lesson too- It doesn’t hurt to look at things differently because you’ll never know what you’ll see. You know what, I think this applies to unit studies very well. I encourage you to look at your children and your homeschool and see if maybe there is a place for a unit study.
‘Thanks for flying with us! We hope you will come again!
